GABA is the skeletal building block from which GabaPentin, PreGabalin/Lyrica and Baclofen are derived. Note that GABA is contained within the names of GabaPenti and PreGabalin. I tried it years ago, but don't recall much in the way of anxiety relief. My response is less to the point, but what I think people are responding to is physical addiction (i.e. how long it takes to get withdrawals). Overall, gabapentin is more addictive when you factor in the totality of everything. Effects are more consistent. Phenibut is usually taken once a day vs. gabapentin staggered. Definitely a type of manic feeling where gabapentin sort of blunts emotions. The social enhancement aspects present with phenibut I find are absent with gabapentin, though gabapentin definitely helps with social anxiety, it does not assist in the flow of conversation like phenibut. Just my observations. Gabapentin is a nerve drug and works to calm overactive nerves. Baclofen is a muscle drug the works to lessen over active muscles causing spasms. As these drugs become less effective the doctor will increase the dose till they are effective. My gabapentin dose is 900mg x 3, my baclofen is 15/20/15/20 mg. Anyone tried Baclofen or Gabapentin for long term anxiety primarily? I believe they also help with depression to an extent. I'm considering trying one of the two because they help me immensely acutely. They are nearly a Panacea for me. I'd try 10-20mg TID Baclofen or 300mg TID Gabapentin. Hi everybody, I'm researching the difference between gabapentin and Baclofen for treating both my anxiety and pain, which I think is also related to my anxiety. I would appreciate any information and sharing of experiences. Hey I too suffer from symptoms of autism, you should check out a post I made on here, its called something like "as a 5 year nootropic enthusiest, here are the effective anxiety nootropics" or something like that. Look into gabapentin, low dose amisulpride, baclofen, and pantagam-active. Baclofen is a muscle relaxer that you can take up to 80mg a day of, which leaves a lot of room for titrating upwards slowly to find an effective dose, because that are typically 10mg pills. Baclofen/gabapentin is a good combo for many, myself included. We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow us. I never took gabapentin, but I assume it works similarly to pregabalin. I had to take quite high dose, but my anxiety was really bad, to the point that I couldn't leave my apartment alone to throw trash away. I take 10mg 3 times a day. I also take trintellix for depression and anxiety. I used to take Gabapentin at very high doses and I feel like Baclofen works better. My injury was chemical based so I've been getting baclofen 4x a day, tizanidine 4x a day with my night dose being double, gabapentin 600s 3x a day, and a 5mg valium to help me sleep through the night, and daily 1ml shots of b12, plus a whole host of other anxiety, stomach, and nerve pain meds. The Gabapentin seems to work alongside the Baclofen quite well. Gives me more relaxation and energy. Combined they give me the much needed boost to just be normal. Baclofen did nothing for me, but pregabalin is almost too much for me. It makes me have 0 anxiety but makes me really out of it. Gabapentin is my favorite, but it takes a while to get into your system since you can't just take it all at once. There's a whole process to it if you do it recreationally. Weaker than Gabapentin and Pregabalin is 6x stronger than Gabapentin. Compared to BAC for a GABAb agonist it’s also weak. I took more than ample amounts and low amounts as well just playing with it for a year again before I tapered off two months ago. I really should write a report on baclofen because it was so unique and educational. I have a totally different perspective on GABA receptors and the role of GABA in the CNS. There's more to the neurotransmittor than what a benzo or barb would lead you to believe. Baclofen however, works on the GABA receptors similarly to benzos but in a different way. I must include that I am an avid fan and prescription-ee of Gabapentin. I swear by it for mood regulation. I take 600 twice a day - but for optimal benefits I will often take 300 four times a day instead. Personally don't have any experience with Baclofen, but if it's between Gabapentin and Pregabalin, I'd go with Pregabalin. Also, Pregabalin has a very long half-life, and its anxiety-relieving effects can be a positive boost in the morning. I like mixing them. It will be a bit more sedative with the baclofen in my experience. Gabapentin is best taken in lower doses, with food and a pop, every thirty mins. Personally, I’d take gabapentin first. 0) 300mg 30mins)300mg 1 hour)300mg And depending how you are feeling as you go on, add the baclofen, which can be taken all at once. Also, fluoxetine would not be the best if you are trying to treat anxiety induced reflux. I don't think it's first line for anxiety treatment, that would be Zoloft. It can be really stimulating and can increase anxiety. I've had medications that were meant to treat my anxiety worsen my reflux, like buspirone or viibryd.
