Question for all the drug users out there I was on Cymbalta for my bad neuropathy. It is in my feet really bad. It used to be up my legs too and I Gabapentin is somewhat effective, but the side effects appear to be increasing. I consulted with a neurologist who assessed my PN as moderate, and in addition to the Cymbalta, has ordered a nerve condition test to quantify the PN. I am seeking info from others who have gone down a similar path. I think many will agree that gabapentin is far superior to Cymbalta in treating pain. Both have notorious withdrawal syndromes, and gabapentin has (slight) abuse potential. Both Cymbalta and its older sibling Effexor are known for what some consider insurmountable discontinuation symptoms, including the infamous "brain zaps."
