Patients and healthcare providers should weigh the benefits and risks of gabapentin treatment, taking into account the potential cognitive side effects. The prevalence of gabapentin use increased from 2006 to 2019, both in overall population and within every subgroup (i.e., cognitive status, age group, and sex).
