So my experience with gabapentin has been it musky to moderately acts an antidepressant and anti anxiety for me. I feel overall day to day my mood is much better and consistent. I also take a low dose of adderall XR for ADD, etc. I personally find these two meds to work synergistically well. I take Concerta 27mg, Effexor 37.5mg and just started 100mg of Gabapentin for ADHD and Anxiety. A lot of ADHDers also have anxiety and sometimes gabapentin can work with ADHD meds to help symptoms. It also helps with my migraines. Among several medications I have been prescribed, the one that gets mixed reviews for how it balances with Vyvanse is Gabapentin. I am on Day 4 of Vyvanse, and I have taken my Gabapentin differently each day, not sure what is good to do and what is a hinderance to the Vyvanse's potency . I have adhd and take Gabapentin (1200mg/day) for nerve pain. I would not say it gives me mental calm, more like it makes me tired and uninterested in life. I wish I didn’t have to take Gabapentin. Posted by u/concertgoer69 - 7 votes and 5 comments At the end of October 2021, I began taking Gabapentin 300 mg once a day. This was as the doctor had prescribed, so I did not think anything of it. The medication at this low dosage did not seem to be helping me, so after two months, I decided to up my dose to 300 mg twice a day after speaking with my new neurologist. My own anecdote: I used to take gabapentin (100mg qd -> I think I maxed out at 300mg tid) for neuropathic pain and I actually found my ADHD to be way worse in that period, plus lots of negative side effects I really disliked (ESPECIALLY feeling like I was constantly drunk). I feel like myself again on this drug . . My son is three years old and I had a rough post partum . I take 600 mg and then another 300 a few hours later if needed . I've been suffering with fatigue / hormonal issues / depression/ anxiety and I think I have adult adhd. Gabapentin is the only thing that gives me energy and motivation to live . My friend takes one prescription co-codamol and is asleep, my husband takes a half. I can take three (I know you’re not supposed to take three lol) and nothing. Two co-codamol, two 300mg gabapentin and a muscle relaxer and it takes some pain away but otherwise no effect.
