This IS NOT the subreddit for discussion of how to get high or otherwise abuse GP. If you have acute akathisia I would recommend trying other options than benzos or gabapentin. They are addictive unfortunately. However if you have chronic akathisia that has moved into possible permanency (this is the state I’m in), it’s not a bad option I guess. Akathisia is not just "restlessness" it feels like falling sa roller coaster pero (in my case) 7 hours straight. 10000x worse than anxiety. It is mentally and physically painful. Akathisia is a medical condition where the sufferer experiences a painful inner restlessness and discomfort that often causes them to stay in motion all of the time, such as pacing, or leg shaking. Akathisia is a common side effect experienced from certain antipsychotic medications. But almost as soon as I stopped taking it, the akathisia went away. There are other medications, atypical antipsychotics I believe, that can cause this side effect, which may be something to keep in mind if you end up trying similar drugs in the future; you may want to talk to your doctor if you decide Abilify isn’t right for you, and want to I originally developed akathisia from stopping gabapentin cold turkey that I was taking for a different cause. When SSRI stopped working my psychiatrist trialed me on various drugs which included clonazepam. She put me on Seroquel Fetzima sertraline Gabapentin Mirtazapine Vilazodone and raised my clonazepam to the high dose of 3 mg. All the medication made me feel like crap cuz I cannot tolerate medication. Either med completely gets rid of my akathisia. In a much cleaner way than kemadrin or cogentin.
