For patients who are unable to take ibuprofen or acetaminophen, EIOH scientists studied the use of a gabapentin combination to use as a non-opioid alternative. The best pain reliever for a tooth ache, or really any transient pain is ibuprofen. (I worked with a dentist for 15 years.)
