gabapentin anger reddit gabapentin cat what does it do

First time (prescribed) gabapentin—anger, irritability, etc? I started gabapentin about a week ago to combat anxiety which is not helped by my antidepressant. I have not noticed much of a change but have noticed a decrease in some of my physical anxiety symptoms—one major one being pain in my body. We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow us. Yes, it brought me a lot of irritability, and anger issues I was on 4x 300mg per day, for almost a year. I tapered off within 1 month, and after a few months I was back to baseline, without any irritability or anger. There are hundreds of posts about "gabapentin irritability" on reddit, this is super common unfortunately. When I took Gabapentin I was often very anger and irritable. So glad I'm not taking anymore. May be not everything makes me anger, but at the first day of taking it (that day I was also on some light stimulators) i felt myself very dangerous for others and lost of control. Gabapentin is helpful to some people with specific pain problems as many in the comments are suggesting. However if you are getting TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) to treat depression and/or anxiety keep in mind gabapentin can actually reduce the efficacy of the treatment. Welcome to /r/gabapentin, here we primarily discuss issues pertaining to the medical, prescribed use of Gabapentin, Lyrica and Phenibut, as well as other Gaba related drugs. This IS NOT the subreddit for discussion of how to get high or otherwise abuse GP. I loved Vraylar. It actually did start working within a week for me. Helped a lot with my anger/emotional outbursts and depression. No weight gain either. The strangest side effect was having mild auditory hallucinations if I stayed awake too long after my dose, but the benefits were worth it. I live in NYS, where it was once very easy to get a script from a PCP, the ER, or basically any other doctor; following gabapentin being scheduled at the state level in 2017-2018, there was an immediate drying up of gabapentin prescriptions here that me and many other patients have experienced when restarting treatment, switching doctors, etc. The most common gabapentin (Neurontin) side effects are dizziness and drowsiness. This may affect your ability to drive or perform other activities. Other gabapentin side effects include edema (fluid buildup), weight gain, and eye problems, but these aren’t as common. As we entered the new year, with my thoughts that Gabapentin was now behind me, I started to experience some very odd symptoms. Some of my muscles would randomly jerk. I was twitching a ridiculous amount. My anxiety/intrusive thoughts were drastically increasing, and I wasn’t sleeping well. I had no idea what was going on. I’m one of the unfortunate few that experience most major negative side effects from Gabapentin (paranoia, anger, deep sadness, impending doom, depression, memory loss, and word recall, etc.) to name a few. I have similar issue it’s pregabalin as well. The higher the dose the worse the side effects. Gabapentin is a strong GABA drug, withdrawal by stopping or stepping down a dose will see similar symptoms to alcohol or benzo withdrawal - moodiness (including anger), headache, fogginess/confusion, insomnia, and anxiety (especially anxiety in my experience). I'm pretty certain it was the Gabapentin that caused my hives. As soon as I stopped taking it my moods got better, no more terrible stomach pain and clear headed. I'm wondering if you meant empathy and not apathy . Gabapentin for me in 2019 created anger issues. I do not have foot pain by my primary doc gave it a try and I had to go off after 2 weeks. I was on just 300 mg per day. The anger issue could be best described as irritability which is far from my normal behavior. I’ve been taking Gabapentin 300 mg/3x/day for the last 30 days and it’s seemed to help with my post surgery sciatic pain. I haven’t felt dizziness really maybe because of the pain but yeah between the 975 mg of ibuprofen, 300 mg of Gabapentin, and 800 mg of acetaminophen 3x a day maybe I’ve become numb to the side effects the last 30 days but it’s seemed to help with the pain Gabapentin was started in a dose of 300 mg bid, and sodium valproate was stopped. Within 48 hours, the patient developed new symptoms of hostility, verbal aggression, and command auditory hallucinations and destroyed property by breaking the commode in his room. I was very (uncharacteristically) angry\hostile on both Lyrica and gabapentin. I do take opiates; I didn't know they may have caused the anger. I gave Lyrica one try I think, and I know I tried gabapentin twice. The hostility didn't abate, for me. I use zonisamide, though. I also experience impatience, anger and negativity which I try to control but not to the same degree. If I knew of a drug which prevented the neuropathic pain in my feet and hands I would definitely stop the gabapentin. Did the lower dose cause the same reaction and did it not alleviate the pain? Gabapentin causing anger and irritability after long term use? At first it helped my anxiety a lot, now when I take it, I feel jittery, anxious, and very irritable and like I lose my empathy? Is this normal?
