Welcome to /r/gabapentin, here we primarily discuss issues pertaining to the medical, prescribed use of Gabapentin, Lyrica and Phenibut, as well as other Gaba related drugs. This IS NOT the subreddit for discussion of how to get high or otherwise abuse GP. Yup.prescribed. 900mg/day but usually only take 600 but with benzos too ( clonazepam and temazepam ) .. I was on lexapro for a few years which helped greatly but eventually the side effects outweighted any benefits the gabapentin helps a little but not that much and the weight gain is bad and hard to loose but thats the only side effect i get. I just started Gabapentin for anxiety. I do also take 87.5mg Zoloft (I'm edging myself up to the goal of 100mg, slowly), and 150mg of Lamictal. I have dysthymia and GAD, with some social anxiety as well. It becomes a very nice opiate without the side effects and addiction. HOW TO PROPERLY USE GABAPENTIN: Drink each down with a decent amount of fizzy soda. The acidity helps it absorb in the stomach. Trust me. Do this. Once you've taken the last pill, have a nice meal. This drastically aids your body's absorption. Gabapentin works amazingly for me but I am so damn afraid of it and cautious. I try to take is a max of 3 times a week. Only days I have to go into work n be on my feet as a precaution. I love gabapentin, but if you have severe nerve pain or restless legs I would recommend Lyrica (pregabalin). Pregabalin is about 3x stronger than gabapentin. Contrary to most comments on this, I love it. It would relax my mind and ease my anxiety. It helped me sleep so much better. In all honesty, it’s all about the right dose. I take 1200mg of Gabapentin daily, do PT, and recently started acupuncture. I have notes in my records from messaging my doc about flare ups with my radiculopathy being so bad those particular days I wasn't able to get much sleep. We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow us. My allowable dose was up to 300 mg 3x a day, though, so not the max amount. I took it to heal nerve damage after neck surgery left my right arm half-paralyzed. It did restore me to about 90% of what I once had. After that I discontinued it because of concerns about long-term effects. Easy-to-read patient tips for gabapentin covering how it works, benefits, risks, and best practices. I love my gabapentine because it allows me to have a better quality of life with almost no side effects but that withdrawal was unexpected. This scares me. Over the past 2 months my doctor started me on 300mg 4 times a day, now up to 800mg 4 times a day for my chronic nerve pain in my spine. I take 2400mg/day for chronic pain and anxiety. I was worried about being a zombie and becoming addicted. So far neither is true. I also take Cymbalta, another devil drug (if you listen to Reddit), and the two of them are making life livable, so I'd say I have no regrets. Gabapentin is helpful to some people with specific pain problems as many in the comments are suggesting. However if you are getting TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) to treat depression and/or anxiety keep in mind gabapentin can actually reduce the efficacy of the treatment. But gabapentin feels like Adderrall without the train ride effect. I was on Adderrall and over time became addicted (my diagnosis) because it made me lose weight, helped social anxiety, helped chronic fatigue and depression but I kept having to up the dose. Welcome to /r/gabapentin, here we primarily discuss issues pertaining to the medical, prescribed use of Gabapentin, Lyrica and Phenibut, as well as other Gaba related drugs. This IS NOT the subreddit for discussion of how to get high or otherwise abuse GP. i took gabapentin for a little over a month, my rheumatologist gave it to me but didn’t notify me of the potential side effects, other than drowsiness. this is a pretty rare side effect, but my whole body (mostly in my legs) was extremely swollen for weeks and i blamed it on everything other than the medication, because i didn’t know it was My doctor just prescribed me Gabapentin 100mg 3x per day for anxiety. She said she’s had much success with patients who can’t use benzos. And the online reviews are very positive. Has anyone taken it off label for anxiety? If so, what was your optimum dosage? And how long did it take to start working? Thank you! I was prescribed Gabapentin for a spinal cord injury. Anyone have experience with this medication? Side effects, pros and cons? So far it has just made me even more tired than I already am all the time. I guess the good thing is I am sleeping better. Gabapentin, on the other hand, is the best overall. In fact, I cant think of a single negative. It’s euphoric, relaxing, helps my anxiety, functional, no hangover, has an afterglow, and almost has a psychedelic touch to it. Basically, gabapentin is cool. Try gabapentin kids.
