Hi all. Since Caplyta is new, and after searching around here and not finding many reports of experience, I thought I would post mine. I am 58 years old, and a physician. I was only diagnosed at 53yo. I have always suffered from horrible bipolar depression. My bipolar symptoms took more of form of depression with bouts of extreme agitation. I took gabapentin following a surgery (and later, admittedly recreationally with that old prescription) and found that it gives me only a brief feeling of calm, and afterwards, emotion upset/sadness and feeling destabilized for a day or two. It was very mild in effect and in side effects. Might make you feel a little high at first, but definitely gabapentin is HARMLESS compared to anti psychotic drugs- I agree they are scary.
