Not everyone who takes gabapentin will experience changes in blood pressure. However, certain factors may increase your risk, including: * Age: Older adults may be more susceptible to blood pressure changes. * Existing blood pressure issues: If you already have high or low blood pressure, gabapentin may exacerbate these issues. The other aspect might well be that you are in less pain so the body is treating you as less "sick", as being sick actually pushes blood pressure up. If these results DO confirm with a finger stick too, not just overnight CGM then its worth checking with the doctors etc, and checking if other meds need adjusting. I went from very low pressure to one reading of 200/110! Started taking 4 diferrent heart meds from O. This included going from 2 meds to 24 scrpts on regular basis not including things like antibiotics for contant infection. You seem to not understand that Placebos often cause very strong physical effects (Lower heart rate, lower pain, faster healing, higher serotonin, higher dopamin, lower cortisol, higher endorphins, higher Gaba, increased heartrate, increased blood pressure, lower blood pressure) The high blood pressure didn't fall during the two months i was not taking it. I was prescribed blood pressure medication, and every doctor i spoke to raised a brow when i mentioned the GABA medication could be the cause. Needless to say, no blood pressure meds worked. Hello! My cat Ivy(12f) was diagnosed with stage 2 CKD a few weeks ago and the vet had me take her blood pressure at home to check for hypertension I have been taking Gabapentin for about 6 years on & off at a dose of 200mg a day for panic attacks. It has usually always worked great. I have noticed blood pressure and heart rate increase when I take it & I have had to stop. I’m curious if anyone else experienced this? I have developed neuropathy and the pain is insane. Gabapentin works amazingly for me but I am so damn afraid of it and cautious. I try to take is a max of 3 times a week. Only days I have to go into work n be on my feet as a precaution. Then only if pain starts. I don’t know what I’m afraid of more, the pain or taking Gabapentin. I honestly can't say, since blood pressure elevations can be a side effect of it, as reported by the FDA. Decided to find out for sure, took some pregabalin and what do you know, my blood pressure normalised in a matter of hours. Remained normal through one week i was taking small doses. Stopped for one day: BAM! high blood pressure I've been on gabapentin for about seven months now and recently have tapered down to 200mg three times a day. Today I took my medication on an empty stomach and about three hours later I feel very shaky and extremely tired. My blood pressure also shot up pretty high. Anyone else experience this?
