My cat Ivy(12f) was diagnosed with stage 2 CKD a few weeks ago and the vet had me take her blood pressure at home to check for hypertension I have been taking Gabapentin for about 6 years on & off at a dose of 200mg a day for panic attacks. I have developed neuropathy and the pain is insane. Gabapentin works amazingly for me but I am so damn afraid of it and cautious. I try to take is a max of 3 times a week. Only days I have to go into work n be on my feet as a precaution. Then only if pain starts. I don’t know what I’m afraid of more, the pain or taking Gabapentin. Decided to find out for sure, took some pregabalin and what do you know, my blood pressure normalised in a matter of hours. Remained normal through one week i was taking small doses. Stopped for one day: BAM! high blood pressure I've been on gabapentin for about seven months now and recently have tapered down to 200mg three times a day. Today I took my medication on an empty stomach and about three hours later I feel very shaky and extremely tired. My blood pressure also shot up pretty high. Anyone else experience this?
