My best advice is time, natural remedies to help the central nervous system (because that's what gabapentin was affecting), and meditation along with deep breathing for when you feel overwhelmed with the eye thing. I just stopped my gabapentin because I was getting this doubled/blurry vision thing. I went to the eye doctor and they said nothing was wrong with my eyes, so I'm assuming the Gabapentin is the culprit. About 2 months ago I was prescribed Gabapentin for my back pain, and starting a week after I began my dosage, I started getting blurred and double vision. It has not gone away since then. I have went off Gabapentin once for a week, and I think it went away a bit, but I'm not sure if it was a coincidence or not. I quit taking gabapentin about 7 days ago after pretty quick taper. I have not felt this shitty in a long time. Brain fog, headaches, bodyaches, terrible time sleeping, blurred vision and depression. The only thing that’s kept me going is knowing that eventually this drug will be out of my system. It wasn’t a medication for me to take. I'm struggling with the withdrawal symptoms from effexor, and my NP prescribed gabapentin to help with the anxiety and burning nerves pain. Not once did she say that I would have to go through all of this again when stopping gabapentin. Gabapentin may cause issues with your eyes, such as blurred or double vision. Was wondering if the blurry vision was a permanent side effect or subsides and goes back to normal after you stop. Cause I can't even read what's on my TV (the small texts ) barely from my bed and it's a 55 inch and I wear glasses. After stropping taking gabapentin, I do not have double vision but am still sleep deprived. This happens to me often. Thought I was the only one. When I take my 3 pills after a few hours I get blurry or double vision and have to shake my head or close my eyes like you said. I hate it especially when I’m working but have no clue what cause it. I also have astigmatism in both of my eyes but that was long before I started taking the pills. Started on 100 mg a few of weeks ago and was on 3 x day 300 mg. starting last Sunday. I am on gabapentin for fibromyalgia/PLMD related sleep issues. I was taking 100mg once nightly before bed and it was upped 4 days ago to 300mg also once a night before bed. Within a few hours of taking the larger dose my eye lids started twitching and continued to twitch for the following couple days and nights. My vision became so blurry I could no longer see my phone screen text. I had to stop after a few months. The higher the dose the worse it got. Eventually I was in more pain from the med than when I started for nerve pain. It was the best thing that ever happened, until it wasn't. Stay as low a dose as therapeutic. Tolerance builds fast.
