This cream combines the actions of gabapentin, an anticonvulsant that is also used to relieve neuropathic pain; ketoprofen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces inflammation and pain; and lidocaine, a local anesthetic that numbs the treated area. Gabapentin is in a class of medications called anticonvulsants. What are the brand names of gabapentin? Gabapentin is available as both a brand name product and a generic product (chemically the same, usually lower cost than the brand name product). Brand names of gabapentin include Horizant®, Gralise® and Neurontin®. Nerve pain is typically treated with prescription-strength medications, but some over-the-counter products, primarily topical creams and ointments, can help take the edge off.
