Hi folks. I've been prescribed gabapentin for anxiety 100mg x 3 per day. I took it for a week and didn't even notice any slight difference. I know it's a low dose but not sure if I need to try higher doses without seeing any effect. Does gabapentin supposed to work immediately for anxiety or need to build up like for neuropathic pain? Pregabalin/Lyrica is WAY better than Gabapentin/Neurontin. You don't need to take gigantic doses throughout the day and it isn't as confusing to dose either. I can take a couple hundred milligrams of Lyrics and feel great. It is definitely the successor of Gabapentin and clearly shows. Gabapentin is helpful to some people with specific pain problems as many in the comments are suggesting. Ask your vet, but you may want to try lowering the dose 300 mg, not 600mg. That seems like a pretty big dose unless you have a massive boy and even then, it’s a high starting dose. You can always work up to 600mg. Gabapentin also comes in 100mg capsules so you can tweak the dosing to something in between as well.
