Gabapentin helps my pain a lot when it is bad and was how I was half way functional at my worst. It doesn’t work for everyone; I’ve recommended it to others who told me they had tried it and it just made them sleepy without helping much. Healthcare professionals sometimes prescribe gabapentin to help reduce endometriosis-related pain and discomfort. Although it can offer some relief, it’s not a cure for endometriosis. Severe Yesterday after seing my gynae I was given a prescription for Gabapentin as a final option before as she put it "turning off my overies ". She has said that she believes my endo has eaten away and or has grown within my muscles and nerves. I used Gabapentin for a non endo related pain from a muscle/nerve injury. It didn't seem to be helpful enough to outweigh the side effects. My hair thinned, I felt foggy and was very swollen. Hey everyone For many years if suffered from chronic pain due to endo/adeno. I went to a pain specialist and she recommended 100mg Gabapentin morning The doctors think it's nerve pain, and have been pushing me to go on gabapentin. I have some concerns about it, having read it can cause suicidal ideation and mood changes. Has anyone else used gabapentin and had side effects from it? I'm picking up my prescription tomorrow and am normally hesitant to take more medication, but the pain is just unbearable at this point and they said that I won't be able to get surgery for about 5 months due to COVID surgery backlog. Everything I’ve read about gabapentin and heard anecdotally is that it doesn’t help and the side effects are absolutely horrific. Gabapentin is for neuropathic pain, its for damaged nerve pain which endometriosis is not! It's a bandaid treatment and a bad one at that. Those of you on Gabapentin for endo pain.how long did it take for it to work to relieve the pain? Also, what dosage are you on? I would just like to know how long I need to stick with it for It was pretty clear I had endo before my surgery, but I officially got diagnosed with stage 3 endo afterwards. I have a heart defect so I can’t take birth control with estrogen. I was recently prescribed gabapentin for endo pain by my specialist. Beforehand, I used to take Aleve and that didn't seem to be enough. The first couple weeks of taking gabapentin, it didn't work by itself, but if I took aleve on top of it, it seemed to help some.
