Gabapentin is a very safe medication with very wide dosing range, she will be fine. 100 mg is a standard dose. It works very well but there are times where the cat can manage to fight of the sedation, hence why your vet probably wants you to dose at night and again before the vet visit. But for those whose cats are on gabapentin, how many days did it take for you to notice positive effects? I have no experience with it, so I don't know in my gut if it's actually helping. It's been about a week, and my cat's demeanor is much more reclusive than before I took her to the vet's. Yesterday my cat had a visit with the vet. The vet insisted that he take 200 mg of Gabapentin. Personally I didn't like that dose but, my cat is 17 to 18 lbs and big boned.
