GERD secondary to PTSD; Sleep apnea secondary to my service connected disabilities of rhinitis, sinusitis and COPD,; and for asthma. I was diagnosed for sleep apnea by the VA earlier this year and I had been diagnosed with GERD and asthma through private doctors. Also, I have a VA issued CPAP. I'm testing a low dose Gabapentin now. 100mg 3 per day, and will work up to 300mg 3 per day over a few weeks. It's only been a few days but not feeling much difference. I read some positive reviews of Amitriptyline on here so thinking I may try that next. I'm not on gabapentin but amitriptyline and when I started they gave me 10mg which did nothing for me. I heard some of the acid reflux happen because of low stomach acid but I dont now if I have or not. I really dont want to use any ppi medication anymore There was excess poo in my system that was clogging myself up, and pushing all the acid up. I started some medication and a different PPI (famotidine which I highly recommend) and slowly but surely it was making the difference. I gave it time and I started feeling better. For me it ended up being laryngeal sensory neuropathy, so we think because there is no actual testing. I have never had issues with anxiety but sometimes people do as they age and don't even know it. Had an endoscopy and ph test as I have (and still have) burping immediately after eating/drinking, stomach pain, farting, occasionally pain in ribs or below ribs at my sides, extremely bad depression and anxiety because my life is probably over at this point and I’ll be disabled forever.
