The most common gabapentin (Neurontin) side effects are dizziness and fatigue. These side effects may improve over time. But, in the meantime, it may be difficult to do activities that require alertness, like driving. If you’re taking gabapentin, avoid driving until you know how it affects you. Energy increased is reported as a side effect among people who take Gabapentin (gabapentin), especially for people who are female, 60+ old, also take Jakafi, and have Primary myelofibrosis. It’s also been discussed in here a lot that it helps focus similar to a ADHD medication while being stimulated to the point of a minor mania for some people. It gives me bad edema and makes me eat like crazy. My breathing gets more suppressed, that might have to do with the fact I also am on methadone.. Tldr: What does gabapentin do to my 🧠 that makes me feel good, energy, talkative. I take Gabapentin every other day because it keeps me going for two days. I only take 100 MG and it barely touches the pain. I love that it gives me energy and doesn’t effect my heart. Neurontin decreases the release of pain enhancing and excitatory neurotransmitters such as glutamate, norepinephrine and substance P by altering the activity of calcium channels in the brain. It appears to increase the levels of the feel good neurotransmitters GABA and serotonin. In rare cases (less than 1%), you may have feelings of death or suicide.
