I have thin, fine hair to begin with, and I lose a little more hair each time I wash it. I don't know if it's the gabapentin or if it's all the hair dye over the years. My hair stopped falling out, and my brain feels so much better. So I’m glad it made my hair start shedding. Otherwise I never would have taken myself off of it. From what I've researched about gabapentin it extends the telogen phase (resting phase) of your hair so any hair that grows during this phase will shed. Your hair stays in this phase as long as you're on gaba. Holy crap, it can cause hair loss. But I can't find out if the hair loss is reversible. The doctor told me it was an 'exotic' side effect (whatever the heck that means), switched me to Lyrica, and told me to use Rogaine. I have weaned off the gabapentin, but now I am scared to start the Lyrica after reading that Lyrica can cause the same issues.
