Extra irritability and temper changes can be a side-effect of Vyvanse, but I'm curious if that may not be the case here. You've been taking it at the same dose, you said, for seven years, but the irritability has only been happening the past few years. This includes sweats, extreme irritability and anxiety, and an inability to focus. As mentioned in many other posts, it does very noticeably affect your memory. So while immediately helpful, in the long term, I have developed a dependency on this drug and experience withdrawal symptoms on a day-to-day basis, which is difficult to manage. I started gabapentin about a week ago to combat anxiety which is not helped by my antidepressant. I have not noticed much of a change but have noticed a decrease in some of my physical anxiety symptoms—one major one being pain in my body. I have noticed since starting a sharp rise in my irritability, anger, etc Anyone else have this? My 22 year old son has been diagnosed schizophrenic. One drug he is on is Gabapentin, 600mg. With his doctors ok, he is taking 11/ day. Yes, 11. His mood started off fine, calm, focused, and actually began college 3 weeks ago. 1.5 weeks ago he be again showing signs of irritability, and mood swings. Yes, it brought me a lot of irritability, and anger issues I was on 4x 300mg per day, for almost a year. I tapered off within 1 month, and after a few months I was back to baseline, without any irritability or anger. There are hundreds of posts about "gabapentin irritability" on reddit, this is super common unfortunately. I've been learning to use clonidine more in my practice for a range of issues, eg. PTSD nightmares, irritability, hypervigilence, anxiety, etc. However I'm not finding much in a literature review in how to dose the medication for various purposes.
