Some side effects of gabapentin may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Anytime I moved or bent over, it was as if my skin was literally ripping apart. Unfortunately, we never could determine a cause, but my amazing dermatologist put me on gabapentin to help, and it’s been great for 2 years at only 300 mg. I still have the issues, and up until now, I’ve been well managed with the severe burning sensation and itch.
