I started gabapentin roughly 5 weeks ago and for the first time in my life, I haven't been able to orgasm at all, not only that but my libido has plummeted and I essentially feel numb down there. But I think a lot of the SSRI’s do reduce libido. There were some other side effects of the gabapentin that were unpleasant, at least when I took it. Made me pretty out of it, and a bit dizzy. I've been taking it for over 20 years, raising and lowering the dosage as needed. Never had lower libido has side effect. Only real side effect for me has been weight gain. So I'm careful what I eat. At first it increased my sex drive so much that it would hurt. Then I started realizing changes to the appearance of my clit so I thought possibly a hormonal imbalance but now for the past two months I can’t orgasm. As a result of taking gabapentin, it’s possible for a few different sexual health issues to arise. Some older men have lost the ability to orgasm while taking this prescription medication. While this severe symptom is a pretty rare occurrence, a much more common side effect is erectile dysfunction. My sex drive goes up a lot, not like levels amphetamine would produce, but maybe halfway there. It's strange and it seems to not be a very common effect as far as studies go that I've read.
