I usually read endometriosis being described as just more intense menstrual cramps, I really wish it was just that. I've been in pain everyday for 2 months straight. Anything that involves living brings more pain: eating, sex, exercise, even just laying down. 2 Answers - Posted in: bleeding disorder, gabapentin, menstrual disorders - Answer: yes My period started recently, and so did the cramps. My anxiety level went through the roof this morning, took one of my 100mg gabapentins and did not feel a single cramp for 8+ hours. I am amazed! It’s so much better than midol, aleve, advil, etc. Does this work for any other uterus owners here? Yes ! I started taking Naprogesic for the first 2 days of my cycle, if that's something available near you, get it! It's honestly changed my life. I feel like with ibuprofen I still had some niggling feeling of cramps, but naprogesic completely numbs it. No idea why this helps, but the lack of dairy has been life changing on my menstrual cycle (and I was a massive cheese eater but this was worth it, still have it if I want, just not often). My other recommendations are an IUD, stick-on heat packs for menstrual cycle (I live on these, can be found at pharmacies usually), and a TON of water. I was diagnosed with restless leg when I got my Sjogren’s diagnosis and was prescribed gabapentin for it. I’ve always had a reliable period but since taking the gabapentin I haven’t had one this past month. There is conflicting info available, but there is research indicating that gabapentin decreases estrogen levels in some people. This may be why it can have an effect on some people’s menstrual cycles. When I was on gabapentin, it affected my cycle. Such as menstrual cups, reusable menstrual pads, menstrual underwear, sanitary napkins, or tampons, choosing the most suitable menstrual product for you requires a process of exploration. Phases of Menstruation: The menstrual cycle is usually divided into three parts by doctors. The following are the main during the menstrual cycle: 1 I’ve been on gabapentin for 3 months, 600mg daily. I’m peri menopause and so far it hasn’t changed my cycle. 🤞🏾. Mine are usually late in the summer months but with that said, I am going on a week late with no signs of pms (tenderness bloat) and am on 1200mg for 2 months now. Maybe I’m losing it, but, did Gabapentin mess with your cycle? I normally have super on clockwork periods. I had my period right after stopping gabapentin, about a week, and it was normal, right on time, as always. I’ve experienced increased inflammation during pre and during menses time frame, did some research and found that it IS definitely related to hormonal changes, specifically prostaglandins they absolutely effect my sciatica as well as tendinitis. Lamictal did not work well for me. It fucked up my menstrual cycle and I was feeling more emotional and irritated. I like Gabapentin; I’ve taken it for a couple years, but it can have mild side effects especially while you’re getting used to it. It makes some people drowsy and others feel overly energetic. Trileptal messed with my menstrual cycle and would cause random spotting and irregular periods. Had to get off it and Im now strictly on Gabapentin. Reply reply Ibuprofen is my go-to pain reliever. I take it for period cramps, headaches, and the oddball pains I get here and there (like my bum knee). It usually kicks in in about 45 minutes. I was surprised at how much they helped (my periods have been getting more painful as I get older). They’re definitely worth a shot! I was on 600mg of gabapentin for about a year before my hysterectomy. Gabapentin basically cleared up all my symptoms around my period but I still was having back spasms from some other triggers. It was definitely helpful. The only side effect was it made me sleepy but I just took it at night instead. Peut-être que je le perds, mais la gabapentine a-t-elle gâché votre cycle ? J'ai normalement des périodes super sur des roulettes. J'ai eu mes règles I've been taking it for about 2 to 3 months now. I take 600mg three times a day and my period is now a week late. As an added note, pregnancy tests are negative. Another note: I'm only taking 600mg Gabapentin and 800mg ibuprofen three times a day, along with the occasional muscle relaxer.
