gabapentin reddit bipolar side effects of gabapentin 100mg tablets

I've been on gabapentin for quite a few years now and at first it is going to make you feel a bit loopy and drugged up I found that that subsided after a few weeks and now can't imagine not being able to grab my Gabapentin bottle it has been a lifesaver in a moment where I'm starting to feel Extreme Rage or like I just can't handle it like I'm Research indicates that Gabapentin is good at lowering the highs, but though it can pull one out of deep depression, it's not as affective at pulling ppl out of low-grade depression on its own. I have been on HIGH doses of Gabapentin for 11 years, and have not once experienced hypomania in that time. However, I live in a constant state of the I tried gabapentin strictly for bipolar (I don’t have any co-diagnoses) and I really enjoyed it. It stabilized me within a few weeks and I was able to function well. The only reason I had to switch off of it was due to memory and cognitive ability. If I wasn’t getting a degree I would have stayed on it. Gabapentin doesn’t make me sleepy at all. I asked to be put on it instead of a benzo because I’m still alert, but relaxed enough to help with the anxiety. I was prescribed gabapentin for fibromyalgia pain before even getting diagnosed with bipolar, but I find it actually really does help my anxiety. I take 300 mg 3 times a day and that's an effective dose for me. Gabapentin and Ropinirole can be used as a mood stabilizer. I was taking both for RLS, but currently stopped taking Ropinirole and have decreased my Gabapentin to see if I no longer have RLS. I currently take 4 antipsychotic meds and by stopping the Ropinirole and decreasing the Gabapentin, I have been having problems with my mood. I take trileptal 300mg and seroquel 200mg at night. risperadol 3 mg, gabapentin 300 mg, lamictal 200mg and trileptal 300mg in the morning, and then 300mg of gabapentin in the evening. Gabapentin has actually helped my anxiety a lot, but the side effects have been a little rough. my psychiatrist just upped my gabapentin 2 weeks ago lol. it's literally the only reason I can sleep ( when mixed with 2 other anxiety meds as well ) because it finally lets sleep medication do something instead of me being an insomniac & now I take it 2 times a day otherwise, too, because the other anxiety meds I've tried when mixed with my mood stablizer have made me angry instead of calmed Im bipolar 2. So I take 300 mg of seroquel, .5 of klonapin and 1200 mg of lithium every night. I stopped drinking, but I love weed. I smoke purely Sativa because I like to still feel in control and remain active when I'm high. Gabapentin doesn't really hit him in any negative way. Personally I'm on gabapentin as well for sleep and anxiety during the day, I take 400 mg multiple times a day. The nice thing about gabapentin is it is totally non-habit forming, and it doesn't get less effective over time. Gabapentin may cause side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and dizziness. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and seek medical attention if experiencing serious side effects or changes in mood or behavior. Gabapentin is prescribed by healthcare professionals and should only be taken under medical supervision. Despite of the lack of evidence, reviews of gabapentin prescribing patterns in the United States show that this medication is still being used with alarming frequency for bipolar disorder. There's also some evidence of violent or otherwise unwanted behavior. What are your thoughts on it? For bipolar disorder, four double-blind RCTs investigating gabapentin, and no double-blind RCTs investigating pregabalin, were identified. A quantitative synthesis could not be performed due to yeah i take it for bipolar anxiety. its not typically prescribed as a mood stabilizer but it might work for some people. however it has worked wonders for me, i really struggle with ruminating like crazy to the point where it causes episodes in either direction. gabapentin has miraculously broken them and now my mind is all over the place, i can think about so many different things in a day Gabapentin honestly seems like a fairly safe drug, but I question its effectiveness as a mood stabilizer. Low risk, low reward horse pills imo. Strangely enough, it's not because of bipolar; I have since developed some autoimmune disease, and it turns out the Gabapentin was aiding me with associated neuropathy. When I tried to reduce my dosage again, it came rushing in. Gabapentin was amazing for me when I had bouts of bad anxiety (100mg 3x/day), but I always took it WITH Lamotrigine (200mg). I didn’t need to take it every day — it completely relaxes your central nervous system, so it was mostly helpful with my stress, anxiety, irritability, etc..
