gabapentin sweating reddit gabapentin as needed for anxiety

I don't mind normal sweating. But yesterday it was totally inappropriate and abnormal. I bent down to do something, got up (which is always a struggle with my leg pain) and there was an imprint of my lower leg on the floor. The colder I felt, the more I sweat. They gave me oxybutynin and it helped, but it caused too many side effects, like sore throats, and my dentist warned me it was drying out my salival glands too much leading to tooth decay. But this gabapentin doesn't do any of that. It just stopped the sweating, like an off switch. Have been on Clonidine for 4 weeks (increased after 2 wks) but it had no affect at all on the horrendous hot flushes and sweating. My GP has now given me Gabapentin to try, but has admitted this is usually prescribed only as a last resort as it is not licensed for flushes. First days i took Gabapentin i had night sweats all over the place and i was on 300mg at night. Next morning when i tried little to no exercise my head was sweaty within minutes. Had to stop due to other side effects eventually. The most annoying effect of quitting for me is the excessive sweating. My apartment feels like an oven because no one will fix the air but if I don't take gabapentin, it's even worse. I can deal with more mood swings but the sweating is Sensory Hell. The most common gabapentin (Neurontin) side effects are dizziness and drowsiness. This may affect your ability to drive or perform other activities. Other gabapentin side effects include edema (fluid buildup), weight gain, and eye problems, but these aren’t as common. I sweat so much that I can lose too much electrolytes and water and get into episodes of orthostatic hypotension. Glycopyrrolate is not sold in my country, oxybutynin works but gives me too many adverse effects. Does anyone else get horrible nighttime sweating from gabapentin and have you been able to alleviate it? As soon as I saw stomach pain, no sleep, no hunger or thirst, the sweating is FUCKED, I was vomiting, as someone stated below it felt like they had a stomach bug or something and I did also until I went back up to 150mg a day instead of 125mg. I started gabapentin again about a month ago (it’s been yrs since I’ve taken it) and this time I’m sooo hot all the time and sweating like a pig constantly. It’s driving me nuts and making me so uncomfortable. When I took cymbalta I sweat through my mattress at night and walked around with tissues stuffed under my pits all the time. It was hell. I didn’t stop sweating like that for 6+ months after STOPPING the medication. I was already a sweaty gal but that was absolutely disgustingly bad. Sweat was dripping especially anywhere that my body was touching. I want to get down to 300 mg just once a day, which after last night will be taken at night but not sure when to go down to once a day. i have been in gabapentin for a little over one month. the VA started me at 300 tid, then 400, then 600, and now i am at 800 tid. i have definitely gained some fat but i so stay very active and eat consciously. my pain and anxiety are definitely lower and my sleep has greatly improved. i was prescribed gabapentin to stay off alcohol and phenibut Hi Monica, I was put on Gabapentin about three months ago and the only side effect I have is excessive sweating. I am on 1800mg a day as well as Co-Codamol 30/500 x 8, Pregabalin x600mg and also anitriptalyne 30mg. When I take my dose, I get really warm and also get this tingling feeling internally and in my limbs.I feel like a furnace for several hours. it’s quite uncomfortable and feels unnatural tbh. Anyone else? Mine is sweating, then comes the agitation along with a sleepy subdued feeling like all my limbs weigh 1000 pounds , oh and it feels like my clothes are to tight .. just an overall combo of that by day two it’s full blown sweating bullets shaking subdued feeling brain fog and by day 5 I began to vomit uncontrollably it feels like ..
