We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow us. I've used and abused (I know, I know) gabapentin for years. It does have a little recreational value and lots of therapeutic value. It works best if taken in small doses spaced out over time, say 150-300mg every 30-45 minutes, as to prevent the transporters in your digestive system from becoming supersaturated. I've used both; gabapentin worked for a few years, then paired with Cymbalta for a few, then switched to Lyrica where I am now. Makes me a little sleepy but does its thing for the nerve pain. Other pain sources are still there, but NSAIDs help with that (alternate between Tylenol and Advil). She said she’s had much success with patients who can’t use benzos. And the online reviews are very positive. Has anyone taken it off label for anxiety? If so, what was your optimum dosage? And how long did it take to start working? Thank you! We do NOT promote drug use; - Accept, for better and or worse, that licit & illicit drug use is part of our world and choose to work to minimize its harmful effects rather than simply ignore or condemn them; - Utilize evidence-based, feasible, and cost-effective practices to prevent and reduce harm; - Call for the non-judgmental, non-coercive On other hand, Gabapentin, despite being abusable, is far from being lethal. It hardly kills people by itself. I do know patients who die with an excessive amount of Gabapentin use, but the main cause is almost always something else that the patient mixes with. HOW TO PROPERLY USE GABAPENTIN: Drink each down with a decent amount of fizzy soda. The acidity helps it absorb in the stomach. Trust me. Do this. Once you've taken the last pill, have a nice meal. This drastically aids your body's absorption. I'm struggling with the withdrawal symptoms from effexor, and my NP prescribed gabapentin to help with the anxiety and burning nerves pain. Not once did she say that I would have to go through all of this again when stopping gabapentin. Reviews and ratings for Gabapentin. 2569 reviews submitted with a 7.2 average score. In addition to these FDA-approved uses, doctors sometimes prescribe gabapentin off-label. Gabapentin, on the other hand, is the best overall. In fact, I cant think of a single negative. It’s euphoric, relaxing, helps my anxiety, functional, no hangover, has an afterglow, and almost has a psychedelic touch to it. Basically, gabapentin is cool. Try gabapentin kids. Gabapentin is helpful to some people with specific pain problems as many in the comments are suggesting. However if you are getting TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) to treat depression and/or anxiety keep in mind gabapentin can actually reduce the efficacy of the treatment. Gabapentin use in elderly patients. Gabapentin can be used in elderly patients, but caution should be exercised due to age-related changes in renal function. A lower starting dose may be necessary to prevent overdose and accumulation of the drug in the body. Monitoring of kidney function is recommended. Gabapentin use in pediatric patients I was taking gabapentin 300mg 3x a day (prescribed) but was also abusing it so probably 1800/2000, moved to a different state and went cold Turkey just because I didn’t want to find a new doctor. I don’t recall any bad withdrawals.
