It works on the chemical messengers in your brain and nerves. Available in blisters of 10’s and bottles of 100’s and 500’s. It may also be used to assist in the treatment of pain, for nerve damage caused by diabetes, as well as for other uses. INDICATIONS AND CLINICAL USE Adults Gabapentin (gabapentin) is indicated as adjunctive therapy for the management of patients with epilepsy who are not satisfactorily controlled by conventional therapy. It is used in combination with other seizure control medications to manage and prevent seizures associated with epilepsy. Gabapentin does not cure epilepsy and only works to control seizures as long as the medication is taken. Gabapentin works by affecting the transmission of nerve signals in the brain. Jamp-Gabapentin is an anti-convulsant medication that inhibits the release of excitatory neurotransmitters, allowing for its use against pathologic neurotransmission such as that seen in neuropathic pain and seizure disorders. It has a wide therapeutic index, with doses in excess of 8000 mg/kg failing to cause a fatal reaction in rats. Jamp-GABAPENTIN Tablets is available in tablets (containing 600 mg or 800 mg of gabapentin). Warnings and precautions Taking Jamp-GABAPENTIN Tablets with opioid medicines, alcohol, or other central nervous system depressants (including street drugs) can cause severe drowsiness, decreased awareness, breathing problems, coma, and death. Each yellow/yellow opaque, hard gelatin capsule, imprinted "300" on the cap and "IG" on the body, contains gabapentin 300 mg.
