It is much more potent than gabapentin, and has much better absorption (gabapentin has active transport absorption that is saturable). You can definitely cause significant sedation with pregabalin so need to be careful with titration. A subreddit to discuss Pregabalin, otherwise known under the brand name Lyrica. Harm Reduction practices followed. I used to take gabapentin, but recently switched to Lyrica. I honestly don't find that there's much of a difference. I know some people seem to tolerate one better than the other, but for me, the side effects are about the same. Lyrica is identifal to Gabapentin, but Lyrica is 6x stronger, lasts longer and IMO is much better for anxiety. If you do switch to Pregabalin you will have less side effects since you already have tolerance to Gabapentin unless you take a break before switching. I also read that Lyrica has better bioavailability and absorption with shorter time frame for max output while gaba takes longer. Medicines have different duration of action.
