Generally, 100mg is very reasonable for any cat around 10lb. Even 200-300mg for larger cats over 10lb is not unreasonable, depending on their weight and response. My guess is that 100mg is not sufficient for your cat if she was more fractious with that alone. Gabapentin is used in cats to treat chronic pain, especially of neuropathic origin and anxiety. For pain, this drug seems to be most effective when combined with other types of analgesics (for For sedation and to manage anxiety, gabapentin doses in cats may be higher than when used for pain.
