Blurry vision caused by gabapentin can be a temporary side effect that goes away on its own after a few weeks of treatment. In most cases, it is not a cause for concern and does not require any specific treatment. Started on 100 mg a few of weeks ago and was on 3 x day 300 mg. starting last Sunday. I seemed to be fine so I decided to drive to a friend's house over 100 miles away. About 30 miles from home and 5 hours from last dose, I started experiencing some blurring of vision. It would come and go. Yes, gabapentin can cause blurry vision. It is, in fact, considered one of the most commonly reported side effects and it usually begins to subside within a few weeks of your treatment or when your body is completely adjusted to the medication. My vision became so blurry I could no longer see my phone screen text. I had to stop after a few months. The higher the dose the worse it got. Eventually I was in more pain from the med than when I started for nerve pain. It was the best thing that ever happened, until it wasn't. Stay as low a dose as therapeutic. Tolerance builds fast. I quit taking gabapentin about 7 days ago after pretty quick taper. I have not felt this shitty in a long time. Brain fog, headaches, bodyaches, terrible time sleeping, blurred vision and depression. The only thing that’s kept me going is knowing that eventually this drug will be out of my system. It wasn’t a medication for me to take. I've noticed blurry vision. I'm on 300mg 3x a day. And I've bought alot extra recently. Was wondering if the blurry vision was a permanent side effect or subsides and goes back to normal after you stop. Cause I can't even read what's on my TV (the small texts ) barely from my bed and it's a 55 inch and I wear glasses. Gabapentin may cause issues with your eyes, such as blurred or double vision. Yes, and my eyes would get so dry my contacts would not stay in place/pop out 😩. I saw someone in this group who had to stop because it caused temporary blindness. Best to speak to your doctor about these kinds of side effects although many will downplay things. Does anyone get red eyes and blurry vision for a brief period after taking gaba? Been taking for close to a year now (900-1200 mg) and sometimes I get burry vision a bit and floaters in my vision for a period after taking it. I never feel at ease incase I'm cut off cold turkey and have to withdraw. It's awful. It's the blurry vision and feeling like I'm not in control of my mind and body, the horrendous anxiety attacks that last for months on end but still pop up for a couple of years.
