So, i've recently started Abilify 5mg for my BPD. I also have Gabapentin 300mg daily as a mood stabilizer. Like everybody, i've been on "everything" up until now. Nothing compares to it. It's incredibly effective and works from the 3rd day. It's really that AMAZING. I will, however, ask my doc to up my dose to 10mg, i feel that more can be gained. Second, there are no validated pharmacological solutions/interventions for BPD as such. As some of the other posters have noted, BPD has myriad presentations and co-morbidities — a fact that often compels symptom management. But due to the diversity in symptoms, no medication “works” for BPD how, say, Dexedrine works for ADHD. Can yall tell me what medications yall are on and mention what works for you My bipolar symptoms took more of form of depression with bouts of extreme agitation. I never really had a euphoric experience, only the mixed agitated depression. I finally had a full manic episode with psychosis caused by yet another antidepressant I was being prescribed which finally led to my true diagnosis of bpd 1. Let me offer my advice as I have been using gabapentin on and off for over a decade. My method almost always leaves me with a high resembling a cross between a drug that releases dopamine, a mild euphoriant such as mdea, and a tiny dose of phenibut or moderate dose of baclofen. Members Online Anyone else seeing that personality tests never work on them My mom who also has BPD was put on Gabapentin for chronic nerve pain, and even at the lower doses it made her lethargic and caused some psychosis I couldn't be around her for several weeks because it seemed to honestly exacerbate her BPD symptoms. I have bpd, have for years. I find gabapentin is okay for a bit for the symptoms but it’s genuinely just too weak for me to carry on working without me having to have ridiculous doses. My doc had prescribed me benzodiazepines but I really hate the idea of those so she switched my rx to the gabapentin. It helps with anxiety temporarily but not the bpd. I'm not officially diagnosed with BPD, but I've been told by several professionals that I have many traits of BPD. I think doctors are reluctant to diagnose me though because I'm a guy. Anyway, recently my mood has been very unstable. I'm experiencing frequent and intense mood swings. I'm currently on Emsam, Lamictal, Trazodone, and Gabapentin. While Emsam has signfiicantly improved my depression and the Trazodone and Gabapentin have helped with sleep, Lamictal hasn't been very effective as far as mood instability. i was on gabapentin + seroquel for the past 6+ months. it’s safe to say it was not working lol, but i put a lot of that on how my doctor would never 11 votes, 26 comments. true I’m currently taking 900mg of gaba everyday for borderline personality disorder. I also struggle with OCD, anxiety, hypomania and ptsd. Does anyone As well as gabapentin 3x daily, propanalol for performance anxiety situations like work, and suboxone for opiate replacement treatment. How well does it work compared to anything else? I have no idea.
