600mg 3x day no side effects I’ve been taking it for about four years. So called brain fog/sedation is strictly dose dependent. The higher the dose, the more severe it gets and vice versa. 1200mg a day and didn't even know brain fog could happen from GP. Neurontin (gabapentin) for Anxiety "I have had general anxiety most of my life, and occasional panic attacks. About a month ago, some personal issues tossed me into a week-long panic attack. I fell into a deep depression that made me have horrible physical pain. I started Neurontin 4 days ago and hours later, I was able to get up and move around. I’ve been taking Gabapentin for 7-8 years. 900 mg 3 times a day. I take it for phantom pain. I’m a BK (Below Knee) amputee. It works wonders for my phantom pain, it gets rid of the pain 100%. The thing is, I’ve been experiencing heavy brain fog. I feel like I haven’t slept for hours and hours even though I’ve slept. The most common gabapentin (Neurontin) side effects are dizziness and drowsiness. This may affect your ability to drive or perform other activities. Other gabapentin side effects include edema (fluid buildup), weight gain, and eye problems, but these aren’t as common. I am withdrawing from Gabapentin for peripheral neuropathy, starting today, and I was wondering what y’all experience was with withdrawing from that particular medicine. Give me the good bad and ugly because I’m wanting to prepare myself. But recently I've read some studies about gabapentin possibly having long-term negative effects on the brain. Some papers say that it's bad for children and fetuses because it blocks synaptogenesis, but safe for adults because mature brains don't really form new synapses. Gabapentin can cause brain damage to my understanding based on new studies that are coming out. It causes the calcium gateways to lose their conductivity. These calcium gateways allow brain synapses to communicate with each other via this calcium pathway. While the evidence suggests that gabapentin alone does not cause memory loss, it can lead to brain fog or minor confusion. However, combining gabapentin with other drugs like baclofen can result in significant memory loss and impairment. Some of my muscles would randomly jerk. I was twitching a ridiculous amount. My anxiety/intrusive thoughts were drastically increasing, and I wasn’t sleeping well. I had no idea what was going on. been on gabapentin for 1.5 years. 1200 mg a day. its helped a lot with mood and anxiety, but the side effects seem to be worsening recently. I get very fatigued and brain fog at my current dose. hence why i only take right before bedtime. then in the AM i also take adderall xr so that helps offset that. Yeah idk something has been going on with me too recently and idk what its from is the main issue, Ive been on Lexapro forever now so thats not it, but around 2 months ago started taking Clonidine, Gabapentin and Suboxone, a few days ago I took double my dose of Subs and started getting insanely bad brain zaps and jolts/ random basically convulsions that only last for a second or two basically
