My understanding is that apparently, Gabapentin doesn't relieve nerve pain in backs! What about asking if you should try higher dose for few months and work down like me? I'm happy now on my dose and very relieved not to have my leg pain which had become quite debilitating and depressing. I seem to be a bit sensitive to gabapentin. It works, but at comparatively low doses. I started out lower but now take 1200mg per day, split into 3 doses. I take other medications in addition to gabapentin. One of those other medications, mexiletine (150mg, 2 times per day), has been more critical for me with regards to EM pain.
