Gabapentin is a horrible medication, I don’t know why they think it’s a pain medication it helps with nerve pain, but it made me feel drunk, it made my hair fall out it made my teeth decay from the inside out, in the years I was on gabapentin every time I went to the dentist there was a problem, I have not had one dental problems since I I take 600mg of gabapentin 3x a day, it helps a little but I'm still on the hunt for something that is more effective in managing my chronic endo pain. For some people it really helps, other people not so much. Has anyone had a diagnostic lap but they found no endo? Went in for an endo lap, got diagnosed with PCOS + deep endo what would you love to have? Many medical professionals will not prescribe pain relievers unless tests are done. Posted by u/Sunflowersurfs - 5 votes and 15 comments I was recently prescribed gabapentin for endo pain by my specialist. Beforehand, I used to take Aleve and that didn't seem to be enough. The first couple weeks of taking gabapentin, it didn't work by itself, but if I took aleve on top of it, it seemed to help some. Gabapentin doesn't work for endo unless you keep that steady flow of it in your system. If I miss one pill, I will have severe pain. I also smoke weed which enhances the effects of gaba making it stronger. This document goes over conditions that doctors commonly want to rule out before considering more aggressive treatment when looking at an endo diagnosis. It should be noted, that it is absolutely possible to have endo and one of these other conditions. When I took gabapentin, my dose was 300 mg three times a day, but that’s just a starting dose so you can definitely go higher. Right now I’m taking 600 mg Horizant twice a day. Personally, I haven’t had side effects with either. I tried gabapentin 600 mg three times a day, with no side effects and no improvement in pain. I then later switched to Horizant (gabapentin enacarbil - the prodrug of gabapentin) 600 mg twice a day. No side effects from the Horizant and it completely resolved my nerve pain from my endo, but it didn’t help my pelvic pain. We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow us. So I had an MRI done a week or two ago and called in to the office to get the news - My specialist believes I have Adenomyosis (with possible Endo Hi all, I had my lap this past Thursday and was prescribed gabapentin for nerve pain following surgery. The cumulative cognitive effects were significant. I have since used klonopin for insomnia, which also happens to help with neuro-inflammationf rom endo, and it has far fewer cognitive side effects. Prescribed both: baclofen as suppository and Gabapentin as a pill. The baclofen didn’t help much, and I switched to Tizanidine (pill). The Gabapentin helped, but had side effects. I’ve not heard of using it as a suppository. Lupron caused some crazy bone pain in her legs, to the point it was worse than the typical endo pains she'd 'normally' get. Additionaly, endo pains were more consistent. It seemed to make pain worse, while also giving some sicknasty hot flashes that are unbearable in our part of the world (with the regular outside heat).
