I was offered a redo on the fusion, but knowing the failure rate with repeated back surgeries have decided to hold off until I've pursued every possible conservative measure. Medications: Levothyroxine, Plaquenil, Cellcept, Trazadone (chronic insomnia), amitriptyline (chronic dyspepsia), acyclovir, omeprazole, gabapentin. I just started gabapentin 3 days ago by my neurologist for nerve pain. I've been taking 300mg once daily and supposed to titrate up to 300mg 3x/day. Today I'm supposed to start my 2x/day but I'm frankly a little worried because my heart rate has consistently been in the high 40s to low 50s at rest since yesterday (normally I'm 65-75). I have been taking Gabapentin for about 6 years on & off at a dose of 200mg a day for panic attacks. It has usually always worked great. I have noticed blood pressure and heart rate increase when I take it & I have had to stop. I’m curious if anyone else experienced this? Has anyone here experienced heart problems while taking gabapentin? I’m referring to heart palpitations, increases or decreases in bp and bpm, chest pain or anything else? I used to be able to take quite a large dose (2400/mg day) but then I received a shot of epinephrine. Also , there were post-marketing and case reports of bradycardia (slow heart rate) They didnt take it serious at all. Told me it was probably from the meds and to follow up with my cardiologist. My bp was 189/100, heart rate 138. They told me it was either from anxiety or the gabapentin which was a "tough med"..sent me home after an iv. If you do not feel right please get checked. My Apple Watch has been showing me a resting heart rate of 50 and I’ve been quite healthy (knock on wood) most of my life. I’ve read that Gabapentin can cause Bradycardia and it’s common but not discussed much. I take a low dose of Atenolol to control my heart's "hiccups" (I can't take more because I have low BP, and the heart meds lower it further). Adderall (short acting) made my heart pound so hard in my chest and sometimes race. But increasing the Atenolol was not an option. On vyvanse, my heart rate has been between 54 (sleeping) and 129 (activity). Took one capsule this morning and was so messed up. Dizzy, can’t walk in a straight line, and can’t focus. Gabapentin I staggered 300m x 11 a while ago and now i feel great but i'm a bit worried about my heart rate cuz it's constantly over 100 and it doesn't go down whatever i do, sometimes it hurts in chest ugh i'm probably just over thinking.
