Gabapentin is actually becoming more and more dangerous. Even for people that take it for seizures and Nero issues. There are long term effects that cause issues (there’s research on this). For me if your on it for anxiety it’s not a good thing it is not FDA approved, I experienced some of the worst side effects from it. i have been in gabapentin for a little over one month. the VA started me at 300 tid, then 400, then 600, and now i am at 800 tid. i have definitely gained some fat but i so stay very active and eat consciously. my pain and anxiety are definitely lower and my sleep has greatly improved. i was prescribed gabapentin to stay off alcohol and phenibut In my experience, gabapentin worked right away. I think there are a myriad of factors that contribute to how the drug affects you (body weight/metabolism). It has changed my life. I have zero desire to drink alcohol or use other depressants. Take 300mg every 30 to 45 minutes with a fatty meal. I was prescribed 300mg daily for some nerve pain in my foot. It to 2 weeks to work. I mean it took 2 weeks for the nerve pain to clear. But I felt a little loopy every day for a week or so. Now I feel normal and the foot is much better. I do this every other day and it works like a charm every single time, without any noticeable tolerance building up as long as I do it every other day. What I do is take 300mg every 30 mins, sometimes with fatty food, sometimes on an empty stomach even. It kicks in quicker with food. Gabapentin’s bioavailability is very poor so smaller doses “staggered” out (I do 300mg every 30 minutes with PB) So maybe take another half and have a bite of some healthy fats. It can take up to two hours to work so it’s not like a benzo which are faster acting but it does work for me. It suggested twice daily dosing could be effective but I can’t remember if this was about Pregabalin or Gabapentin. I do know that for neuropathic pain Gabapentin is prescribed in the UK 2x 300mg 3 times per day so every 8 hours. That may indicate that the Gabapentin does indeed provide up to 8 hours duration of therapeutic effects. As you titrate up to 1800 mg, different side effects kick in. You have to hang in and ley your body acclimatize. But, I'm glad I added Neurontin for now. Time will tell. No plans to get off at the moment tho cuz I do feel some benefit. I've suffered from GAD, SA, and dysthymia for far too long. At least 30 years. I'm not going back and if I need to take the right amount of drugs to keep that from happening then so be it. As long as side effects are kept For all the comments above, I’m taking 100mg 3 times a day, I’m 10 days in now and like I stated above, zero affect so far. I can see from you guys that have commented above that this didn’t have any affect for you guys either.
