My reason for the gabapentin is nerve damage from a fall. I got up to quickly from laying down and fell on my left side. I cracked 2 ribs. About a week later the whole side of my leg went numb from hip to foot. There is still some numbness there. I tried to cut back on gabapentin. However if you are getting TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) to treat depression and/or anxiety keep in mind gabapentin can actually reduce the efficacy of the treatment. My husband has been on relatively low doses of gabapentin for almost a year. It was prescribed by a podiatrist - rather cavalierly, I thought, for minor neuropathy in the feet. I had a feeling this wouldn't end well. Originally it was only 300 mg once a day and worked great.
