I also have neuropathic itching from the nerve damage, so I’m hoping Gabapentin will help that as well. My doctor is starting me off slowly to try to avoid/lessen any negative side effects (right now 100mg 4 times a day). Clinical trials showed that Gabapentin reduces neuropathic pain by <1 point on a scale of 1-10 and only benefits about 15% of patients. It affects the nerves in my right arm, pins and needles, dull sharp pain etc.. and I was prescribed Gabapentin, the doc told me to experiment to see what worked and started me at 100mg. It didn’t start to help until I upped my dose to 800mg before I felt any relief.
