Gabapentin is a gabapentinoid that works via binding to the α2δ-1 subunit of Voltage-Gated Calcium Channels to act as a VGCC blocker, which is responsible for it's anxiolytic and painkilling effects. It has no effect on anything serotonin related so you'll be fine. 👍. I googled it and there seem to be a couple studies saying it does. You do not have serotonin syndrome. So my primary care doctor-- who has been managing my Zoloft meds-'- increased the dose to 150 mg. I didn't feel OK on it, and almost every morning after taking it, I woke up jittery. I felt like I was shaking -- but it was inside my chest, hands, etc. My doctor thinks it was "serotonin syndrome". So I'm back on 100 mg a day.
