Awesome! So happy for you and your journey. I just started caplyta 6 days ago and am already seeing some little differences and the side effects like dizziness and headaches are slowly fading! Cymbalta is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) treating depression and anxiety. It balances neurotransmitters to improve mood and relieve pain. yeah i take it for bipolar anxiety. its not typically prescribed as a mood stabilizer but it might work for some people. however it has worked wonders for me, i really struggle with ruminating like crazy to the point where it causes episodes in either direction. gabapentin has miraculously broken them and now my mind is all over the place, i can think about so many different things in a day I was on Lamictal, Seroquel and Abilify for a long time and didn’t have any side effects from either of the antipsychotics. I’m not currently on Lamictal due to another treatment I’m doing, and haven’t been on Abilify for a while because it wasn’t really effective for me. I am currently on Lamictal 150 mg for a month. I started at 25 and slowly increased the doses. My psychiatrist just added to Gabapentin 300 mg (1-2 capsule daily) for my anxiety and sleep. I’ve had a great experience. Lamictal has been side effect free for me, but I have to take it twice a day since I take a larger dose (400mg). I don't have bipolar per se but I currently take gabapentin for my mood swings, BPD, and anxiety. It's working pretty awesome but its mildly Never tried lyrics but I take gabapentin and lamictal too. For the gabapentin I take 600mg 4X daily which has helped me a lot. The drowsiness was there but it got better after awhile. Nothing else has helped my anxiety except benzos but can’t take those anymore bc of addiction. So maybe you could up the dosage? I saw a neurosurgeon 2 years ago during a flare and they said they’d want me to max out on meds first. I take gabapentin, Baclofen, tegretol. I’m maxed out on Baclofen, take 700mg Gabapentin, 600 tegretol. I know that’s not a lot compared to some people but there’s no way I could go up anymore especially on the gabapentin. It was clear to me that the see this a lot with gabapentin. They can give you some Zofran which will help the nausea tremendously. I would also get very cold, and sometimes taking a warm shower or bath would help calm me down. You can try that. Do not stop taking gabapentin if it is bothering you. The withdrawal symptoms are severe. I take trileptal 300mg and seroquel 200mg at night. risperadol 3 mg, gabapentin 300 mg, lamictal 200mg and trileptal 300mg in the morning, and then 300mg of gabapentin in the evening. Hello! I have MDD and GAD with obsessive thinking. I’m on Trintellix 20mg and Gabapentin 1,200mg/day, which my doc put me on for GAD. At the I have tried titrating up on Lamictal twice now, per my psych nurse practitioner. It seems when I get to 75mg I become very angry and agitated, like how I feel during a hypo mixed episode. She had me go back down to 50mg and added 5mg olanzapine. Wow amazing you ask that because I’m on both meds too but my reason is due to a seizure disorder. Lamictal being my main med and gabapentin as the backup. I currently take 200mgs lamictal in one morning dose and 900mgs gabapentin 3 times a day. I’ve been on gabapentin 20+ years so I’m on a high dose. Lamictal did not work well for me. It fucked up my menstrual cycle and I was feeling more emotional and irritated. I like Gabapentin; I’ve taken it for a couple years, but it can have mild side effects especially while you’re getting used to it. I personally like gabapentin as an anxiety med because it doesn’t make me drowsy, others I’ve tried have knocked me out. Lamictal is a tricky one to get used to but it’s worked for me for a long time when taken twice a day. I’ve noticed significant decreases in mood swings than when I’m off of it. It was a very stressful time. All I did was sleep as often as I can. Started taking Lamictal and within 3 days the turn around hit and I was me again. If a doctor told me today that I could only have one prescribed medication, I would choose Lamictal. I have been using Gabapentin and Lamictal for about six years to manage my Bi-Polar type 1 disorder and it works better than any meds or combination of meds I have used in 20 years. It is the longest period of time I have been stable and not had to be hospitalized. Still titrating up with the Lamictal, but so far I’ve found that it seems like it’s going to be more helpful for general anxiety and handling stress better, without being overly sedating for me (as I’ve dealt with when I tried upping my Gabapentin prior to being on Lamictal).
