So I went to drugs.com reading reviews for anxiolytics and stumbled on gabapentin, which had pages and pages of people saying it works incredibly. I got a prescription for it and haven't had any anxiety at all since taking the first pill. Past a certain point, gabapentin bioavailability begins to reduce. This means that taking more means it will actually be weaker ( source ) I lol whenever I read a comment about somebody taking 40 or so pills and complaining about how everybody else is bullshitting about the gabapentin high. All that above being said, this syndrome of Gabapentin withdrawal has left me exhausted and still a ways to go. By far the lack of real sleep has been the most disabling part. I’m still only getting about 2-3 hours, then I’m up for hours, EVERY SINGLE NIGHT since I stopped the gabapentin. Gabapentin is helpful to some people with specific pain problems as many in the comments are suggesting. However if you are getting TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) to treat depression and/or anxiety keep in mind gabapentin can actually reduce the efficacy of the treatment. To those who take Gabapentin, do you notice it gives you energy and motivation, but also allows you to relax if you need to and gives you great sleep? To clarify, I take some Aleve and drink a little coffee to potentiate my gabapentin. I also stagger the doses, taking 300 or 600 every half hour. I might also drink one of those little 5 hour energy bottles because gabapentin has a tendency to make me tired. It's not as simple as " gaba blocks neurons". They don't know for sure how it works, but it increase the gaba neurotransmitter in your brain, in a different way than benzos increase gaba. It helps me feel euphoric and full of energy. The only negative side effect I get is a dry mouth and lips. Energy increased is reported as a side effect among people who take Gabapentin (gabapentin), especially for people who are female, 60+ old, also take Jakafi, and have Primary myelofibrosis. Gabapentin and Pregabalin are notorious for a quick building tolerance and not just @ recreational doses. 1500mg is also a very low therapeutic dosage for Gabapentin considering max doses can go up to 3600/4200mg. Let me offer my advice as I have been using gabapentin on and off for over a decade. My method almost always leaves me with a high resembling a cross between a drug that releases dopamine, a mild euphoriant such as mdea, and a tiny dose of phenibut or moderate dose of baclofen. That dose of gabapentin in particular seems low to me. It may need to be raised. You also may try the "staggering" methods discussed here: Take 300 mg, wait 1 hour, take 300 mg. The effects will compound exponentially. Keep in mind that this may lead to abuse. OTC pain relievers will also work well in synergy with gabapentin. Normal energy definitely will return, I don't miss the days of feeling absolutely catatonic, barely able to even get up off the couch when coming off this drug.
