Gabapentin is fairly safe when you use it correctly. It does come with some possible side effects, though. People who misuse this drug are also at risk of additional side effects. Gabapentin is The most common gabapentin (Neurontin) side effects are dizziness and drowsiness. This may affect your ability to drive or perform other activities. Other gabapentin side effects include edema (fluid buildup), weight gain, and eye problems, but these aren’t as common. What are the serious side effects of gabapentin? [8] Serious side effects may include seizures , an increased risk of suicide in those less than 25 years of age, urinary retention , glaucoma , mania , and a number of heart issues.
