Maximum gabapentin dosage for adults: 1800 mg daily in three divided doses. Although the FDA says 3600mg/day in most places, they have a more extensive doc about gabapentin/neurontin usage and bioavailability. Doses of 3600 mg/day have also been administered to a small number of patients for a relatively short duration, and have been well tolerated. Administer NEURONTIN three times a day using 300 mg or 400 mg capsules, or 600 mg or 800 mg tablets. The maximum time between doses should not exceed 12 hours. Gabapentin is a prescription medicine for epilepsy and nerve pain. The usual dose is 900mg to 3,600mg a day, split into 3 doses. Do not stop taking gabapentin suddenly or take more than prescribed.
